This is my Masters Class in Dating, founded by Tamara Duricka Johnson. The goal is to get back to the basics of dating, by going on first dates in June. Each date will be a first date. I will write about it afterward. We'll hopefully have fun and come out as at least friends.

No Internet Stalking

As my friends have sent out emails asking for dates on my behalf (or at least for a guy to contact me for a date), I have to stop myself from immediately internet stalking them. Normally, whenever I meet anyone, I do some quick checking on Facebook to get a feel for them. I know that many of of do this.

However, Facebook never tells the full story of someone. It can also many times provide me with reasons to not have interest in someone, be it their political beliefs or the television shows they watch or the amount of friends they have. This is a huge disservice to them--we are so much more than what our Facebook profiles show! It also allows us to feel like we "know" someone without ever actually talking with them.

I want to get to know the guys I go on dates with by meeting them and actually talking with them. So I am not internet stalking any of the names I'm given for dates. I'll leave the getting-to-know-you portion to the date.
